Our Story

A family-owned florist proudly serving Trenton since 1962..

George’s Flowers was created by Helen and Hugh William George in 1962. Originally, the shop was run out of their home in an area known as “George Town.”

In July of 1984, my grandmother—my Nanny—Jewell Hardaway, purchased the business. In 1985, she moved George’s Flowers to its current location in the Davy Crockett Mall, where it has continued to grow and serve our community ever since.

George’s Flowers has been my grandmother’s for the past 41 years and has been in business for over 63 years total. I am beyond thankful and excited to carry on this legacy for many years to come.

My Nanny has been so much more than a florist. She has been a friend to many, a comforting presence during some of life’s hardest moments while helping families choose funeral flowers for loved ones, and a smiling, familiar face to everyone who has walked through our doors. For as long as most people can remember, she has been the face of George’s Flowers.

I have been fortunate to watch her over the years and have always admired her hard work, kindness, grace, and determination to make every person who walks through her doors feel better than when they arrived. I hope to continue that same care and tradition for both our longtime and future customers.

Today, George’s Flowers is a one-stop shop for all things floral—celebrations, funerals, birthdays, events, and life’s little happy moments. We also carry home décor, gifts, jewelry, and select clothing from my online boutique.
